08-10.10.2008    Three days in Warsaw

Students from junior high school in Laskowa had an unique chance to see the capital of Poland. It was very hard working days for all of us. During unusual lessons on the streets of Warsaw, next to the famous monuments, or in the halls of astonishing buildings students had chance to see things about they only heard in school before. Students visited such places as Starówka, Palace of Culture, Royal Castle or Łazienki Park. However, the visit to Powązki Cemetery was the most personal and emotional lesson of all. Students in complete silence with fear and reverie in their eyes were looking at thousands crucifixes made of birch. Students have perceived the tragedy and horror of Warsaw Uprising. What students saw during this trip to Warsaw will always stay in their minds. They would never see this during the typical lesson.

This is the second big football holiday in Laskowa after the last year’s “What an Action”. Our opponent was a team from Spytkowice’s Sport Club “Arka”. They have bigger experience but it was a close contest. The score was 4:4 and the winner was constituted by penalty kicks. After catching the ball after the first kick by Rafał Stanaszek audience went wild but stress was stronger and we lost the game.
